Elden Ring won the Japan Game Award for 2022, competing with other big games. It is surprising indeed, how a game that has a niche/segmented target market can attract attention and be liked by many gamers out there. And also, recently FromSoftware‘s newest game won an award from this year’s Japan Game Award which was announced at one of the Tokyo Game Show 2022 sessions. This latest Soulslike game beats many big games such as Ghostwire: Tokyo, Tales of Arise, Horizon Forbidden West, and others.

There are various nominations in this award event, such as the Award of Excellence, The Minster of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, Global Award Japanese Product, Best Sales Award, Global Award Foreign Product, and Game Designers Award.

This game made by FromSoftware itself has won awards in the Award of Excellence field, beating big games from Japanese studios such as Tales of Arise, Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and even Resident Evil Village classmates.

Grand Award winner Elden Ring is playable on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC. Not only the game, even the creator himself, Hidetaka Miyazaki, also received an award as The Minster of Economy, Trade and Industry Award.
