Electronic Arts Introduces EA Application for PC – Electronic Arts, or EA, has recently released a new PC application to replace the contentious Origin. For more than a decade, Origin has been the default platform for EA games on PC. Although the platform is constantly improving, the name still has a negative connotation among players.

After previously announcing the existence of a new application, EA discussed it briefly, stating that it had received a lot of feedback from players and understood the limitations of the application. The other most important aspect is how the PC platform has evolved over the last decade.

EA finally presents a new application with no specific name and only the name “EA” for this purpose. This simplicity explains a little about the application’s purpose, which is to help players find and play their favorite games more easily, quickly, and lightly.

Automatic game downloads, background updates, and connectivity with other gaming platforms such as Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox are among the features mentioned in the announcement via posts on EA’s official blog. According to EA, once players create their unique ID in the app, they will be able to see what their friends are up to and easily join in on the fun.

It’s easy to see why EA would want their own platform on PC, especially since they don’t have to share the results with third-party platforms or take full advantage of it. However, as more EA games become available on Steam, it will be interesting to see how far EA can go to convince players to purchase games through their new app. Especially given the recent controversy surrounding Origin.
